Melanie Musson: Doordash is the only service that delivers to my address

I use Doordash exclusively because it is the only food delivery service that delivers to my address. Doordash offers the widest coverage range, so if you’re in a semi-rural location, they will probably have the most options available for you.

I appreciate how easy it is to view restaurant menus all from one place.

It’s a lot easier than navigating local restaurants using a Google search.

Stacy Caprio: UberEats gives me 5% Uber cash back

I use UberEats over the other food delivery apps because I have the Uber Visa card and it gives me 5% Uber cash back on all UberEats purchases. This makes it more than worth it to only order online via UberEats to get a high Uber cash back amount on each purchase.

Thinh Phan: Foodora has excellent customer service

I use mostly Foodora for my food. The thing I like about Foodora is the fact that their customer service is excellent. Whenever I have any problem with my order, say my food is late or the rider forgets something, I can chat directly with one of their reps. They often resolve the issue quickly, either giving me a refund or getting another rider to get me the missing items.

Speaking of rider, Foodora delivery team is also top-notch. They're quick and communicative. If they're running late, they text me right away. Sometimes they call which is always nice. I don't know what they do at Foodora but their riders are always courteous and friendly when they deliver my food. One time, I was sick and couldn't get down to the lobby to retrieve my order. I asked the rider if he could come up instead. The guy pleasantly agreed and got the food to my door with a smile. I tipped him extra for that.

Another thing I like is that Foodora only teams up with high-rating restaurants. They don't offer McDonalds or any popular fast-food chains. I don't know if that's what they also do in other places but that's the norm here in Western Canada. They're pricier than other food delivery apps but I'm willing to pay for the service and quality of the food.

So that's my experience with Foodora. Like I said, I use it mostly. Once in a while, I use UberEat and DoorDash if they have a discount going on. They're OK. But their customer service can be hit or miss. Some of their delivery guys can be unreliable sometimes. Things like leaving my food in the lobby or no calling if anything happens.

As we all are stuck in our houses, working and doing our jobs, we don't have many options for a take out. Principally, we should not order anything from outside at this point and time but still, I wanted to review a food delivery that is different from UberEats. DoorDash is a very popular alternative. It is a food delivery service that is expanding to cities all over the United States and some parts of Canada. To order from this app or website, you have to choose a restaurant, place an order and pay through the app. Just like Uber, DoorDash delivery employees are not employed directly but are contracted to deliver. Although I haven't faced any major problems while using this app, it can vary with different locations that you will use. One of the common complaints that I've seen during checking out the reviews was that they sometimes mess up the order or deliver the order late. So, pick the restaurants carefully and those that have good reviews. Don't expect drivers to get your order any faster than necessary and unrealistically.
