Tom De Spiegelaere: partner with influencers

The best tip I have for getting more Instagram followers is to partner with influencers.

Brand awareness is one of the top priorities, especially with new businesses. If you're only starting with Instagram, you'll have a very limited organic reach and your posts could only do so much. To turn this around, *collaborate with influencers and have them post about your brand and tag you.* People already trust influencers' recommendations, so creating influencer partnerships is a great way to not just gain more followers, but also build customer trust and get more conversions.

But before you go crazy with influencer partnerships, note that you should also have a vetting process before you proceed with anything. *Screen your potential influencers *so you'll know if they match your brand personality and brand message. Be on the lookout for any past or present controversies that may harm your campaign. If everything's good, proceed with your partnership and be ready for the huge wave of followers you're about to have.

Nick Flint: cross promote on other platforms

Cross-promote your Instagram on other platforms. On Tik Tok make a video and say see more on my Instagram. Or a really popular version of this is videographers shooting interesting looking clips and they'll put final results are on my IG. You can use this same approach for Facebook. Post a link to your recent IG post, but add some additional info on Facebook. You don't want to post the exact same thing on different platforms, instead repurpose it to make it more engaging.

Mikayla Rose Wilkens: spend an hour a day commenting and liking

My number one tip is simply spending an hour a day going through people within your niche and commenting and liking their photos. Their followers will start to see your name and then come to your page! As long as you have great content (quality lighting makes a huge difference) you are most likely to convert these other individuals' followers into your own! This is how I have been able to increase my own followers.

Mikayla Rose Wilkens is a model, influencer, and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, CA. She runs several different companies including an online boutique, talent agency, event planning, graphic tee business, and a mental health company. She is an influencer and enjoys learning about the influencer marketing space in her spare time and helping other individuals find success.

Jase Rodley: interaction is key to building your followers

It is so simple and key, yet so often overlooked. Interaction is key to building your followers on instagram. Ask your followers questions in your posts, and start discussions through this. Comment on posts that relate or in some match your brand, and like other posts as will. So often brands get trapped on being to internal and only worry about their own posts and page, they forget the social part of social media.

Dan Bailey: the right followers will promote your brand without incentive

I feel businesses shouldn't just be looking at getting more followers, but also *retaining *those followers and converting them to fans. If you get the right followers, they will help promote your brand without any extra incentive. But you have to put in the work, even if the upfront return is nonexistent.

We've developed a content strategy that is tailored to the types of followers we want to attract. Content that is high-value and easy to share. This helps not only bring us followers directly, but also indirectly as those new followers share our content. And ensuring we release regular, quality content allows us to retain those followers.

Ashley: the best way is through authentic engagement

The best way to get more followers on Instagram organically is through authentic engagement. Though it does take work, this approach preserves the quality of your audience by building relationships. These relationships, engaged through commenting on content, direct messages, or even voice messages, are far more affective now than posting generic content with hashtags.

As the CEO of a digital marketing agency, this method has proven itself time and time again. We can create the most compelling content in the world for our clients, but if they are not driving traffic or creating conversation, it's all in vain. Personally, I continue to use engagement across my personal channels. My goal is not to scale to a high volume of followers - but to sell high ticket services to the RIGHT followers.

theRave: be the person who takes an interest

I didn’t start taking Instagram seriously until last year. The best thing I’ve seen help grow my following has been engaging with my audience and being a real person with them. At the end of the day, a lot of artists try to put walls up between them and their supporters. While that might have worked pre-internet, nowadays people want an emotional connection to those they support. If you feed and cultivate that connection by commenting on their posts, interacting with them, and just generally being a decent human being, this strengthens that relationship.

Doing this grew my account because the moment I’d release a new song or video, supporters would be more likely to share said content with their friends than if I were a complete stranger. This then brings their friend into the circle. Now they have each other to discuss all things Spells and Curses (my band), and can even go to my shows together! This is how the snowball starts. So my secret tip? Just be the person who takes an interest in the people who take an interest in you. Creating this positive feedback loop has not only improved my online presence, but my life.

Ali: a good bio will help you convert more

I noticed an increase in daily followers when I made changes to my Bio.

The format I currently use is this:
  • 1. About you and your story
  • 2. What you do for your follower
  • 3. Social validation. try to include a number
  • 4. Call to action
Extra notes:
  • 1. Make it look pretty with emoji as bulletin points.
  • 2. if possible use less than 7 words in each line. this is to avoid overflowing into the next line
  • 3. if possible use only 4 lines. 5th line requires the user to press more.

Here's the thesis. No matter what you post, people will visit your profile. A small percentage, albeit, but they want to know who you are.

A good bio will help your convert more of these people who will anyway visit your account.

Sindhu Mohan: Engage, Engage, Engage!

Many will say Instagram is just a follow-unfollow game. That is indeed helpful to get followers fast. But to get high-quality followers who will like and comment on your posts, you need to engage with theirs first.

But remember:

Don’t ever engage for the sake of getting a follow-back. It’s quite obvious when the engagement isn’t genuine.

Continue engaging even after you get a follow-back.

This is how you get loyal followers who engage with you. With increased engagement every time you post, Instagram pushes your post up so that more of your followers will see your post! The more views your posts get, the more likes and engagement which in turn increases your chances in ranking higher for your hashtags!

It’s also important to leave good & valuable comments in other accounts. But it needs to add value to the post. If it’s a post about tips to stay productive, add your own tip, or tell your experience about using the tip. If your comment is insightful, people might even tap on your username to check out your profile!

With this strategy, I got 26 new followers per day on average for my blog Instagram account.

Richa Pathak: most people see your post for a second so make it stand out

I got most Instagram followers by using interacting with people on their post. So, search your audience profiles using some widely used hashtags. Then explore their posts and share your genuine comment on it. Ask them to see your feed to share their suggestions too.

Hashtags are the power of Instagram, you can connect with millions of people using these hashtags, so use it wisely. Pick the right hashtags which depict your brand image, use it frequently, interact with your audience on your posts too. So some gratitude, tell them how valuable they are for you.

Add some value to your profile by using different content formats such as carousel, images, videos, stories. Don’t just stuck with one, most of the people see your post for fraction of a second so make it stand out. Ask questions sometimes to your audience, that way they will feel valuable too.

I got 9K followers organically by following these practices regularly. The audience which I got is highly engaging and drive good brand image to my profile at @01richa90 on Instagram.

Lauren Mendoza: Generate content and have consistency in it

One tip to gain more followers on Instagram is: Generate content and have consistency in it. People usually expect to make their Instagram account grow out of nowhere, and sometimes they even get frustrated because they see how slow it can be. But one thing you need to keep in mind is that organic growth takes time and lots of consistency.

Think about it this way, how can you expect users to follow you if you have nothing to offer them in your account? You always want to think of giving them valuable information that they can relate to, and make them follow you because of the quality of your content. It is very important to be consistent in the content generation because nowadays you can see millions of accounts on Instagram, and it just takes 5 seconds to decide which account they should go to.

With that being said, always keep in mind that the consistency in the content generation is what is going to bring you, followers, day by day, slowly but surely.

Angelo Sorbello: Hashtags, hashtags, hashtags.

Find relevant and popular hashtags related to what you’re posting and use them religiously. Under your photo caption, leave a few lines of spaces ( use a few dots) and then load up on popular hashtags. Instagram makes it easy to find relevant hashtags so start typing in a word and the most popular ones will show up.

After using these popular hashtags for a little bit, you will notice new accounts liking your photos and following your account.

It’s all in the hashtags!

As the head of my firm, I've become involved in our marketing department's social media planning. Michael James Nuells: get creative and fun with the hashtags

My favorite tip to recommend for gaining more followers on Instagram is to get creative & fun with the HASHTAGS! Not only this, I suggest using the maximum 30 hashtags. There`s a reason we`re allowed to use 30 of them. The reach to current & new fans & followers, as well as additional likes, comments, views, sales, etc. from posts are ENDLESS! Of course you can research what the average number of hashtags used per post are, but even these numbers have been found to differ depending on where you`re doing your due diligence. Also, by maximizing here, you`ll have an even greater chance of getting featured on 1 or numerous hashtag pages, which is always a plus! I`m still considered fairly new to using Instagram and although I haven`t started my journey of posting every day or week like most, I`ve found that my use of the 30 hashtags per post has kept me averaging consistently in regards to numbers of likes, views, analytics, etc. I even know that my use of hashtags is a large reason why I`ve been able to collect THOUSANDS of new followers in such a short time! IG HASHTAGS ARE OUR FRIENDS!:)
